Building Concept

The idea of sustainability and ecological design is to ensure that our actions and decisions today do not inhibit the opportunities of future generations.

The principal of communal housing and the sharing of common areas and services contribute to a great extend to achieve a more energy efficient building. For instance, a heat efficient central heating system, water recycling systems or solar panels would be far too expensive individually but can be paid for communally.

Co-op Securities

Co-op securities -also participative securities- are an opportunity to participate financially in collective housing by investing in our projects. This approach is very popular amongst housing co-ops because it breaks with the otherwise predominant model of having to rely on banks and mortgages for financing.

Right-of-Use Housing

The right of use model consists of collective ownership of a building or complex by the housing co-op. Individuals have the right to occupy a particular apartment by mutual agreement but do not hold exclusive ownership to it. This agreement may be indefinite if the co-op is the land owner or limited if the plot has been leased to the co-op by the City Council. The co-op builds the building and becomes its owner on a plot of land that may belong to the co-op or be granted to it privately or ceded by the City Council at a symbolic price and for a limited amount of time.
